remembrance of Muharram

Alhamdulillah praised to Allah for we were giving the chance once again to celebrate maal hijrah 1432 on 6 dec 2010.

as we all know, muharram is the most special month in islamic calendar. for it is among 4 sacred month in hijri calendar. the other 3 sacred month in hijri calendar are : zulhijjah, zulkaedah and rejab.

Related verse from the Quran:

♦ “Verily, the number of months with Allah is twelve months (in a year) so was it ordained by Allah on the day, when He created the Heaven and the Earth; of them four are sacred” [At-Tawbah 9:36]

The most virtous day on this month is on the day of 10th muharram. that day known as Asyura day and all muslims are highly encouraged to fast on that special day! not to forget its the day when most of people gather around and make 'bubur asyura' to be distributed to all neighborhood and the needy. so here a liltle info of muharram..the day of asyura was greatly related on the story of prophet Musa where he was saved by Allah from firaun and his armies on the red sea. muharram also known as maal hijrah is celebrated as the mark of the beginning of islamic year on 1 muharram.

As a student,i personally embraced the meaning behind all the historic events happened during the journey of Prophet Muhammad from Makkah to Madinah on 1st of muharram in 622AD. it shows the values of sacrification from all the muslims in Makkah as well as the credibility that our Prophet Muhammad had shown in order to protect and spread the islamic way of life across the region.we as a human should take this as an example to live our live better.

what makes me wonder is that malaysian muslims nowadays are not resembling the true muslims character that all muslim should have in order to maintain the reputation as the person which is well known with our strict adherence of the sunnah of Rasulullah our beloved prophet. it worries me to see most of the youngsters these days commit a lot of immoral act and are fond to do a lot of sins rather than doing a good deed.celebrating maal hijrah year in and year out hasn't brought any great impact on muslim overall. Celebrating the Islamic New Year but doing nothing really constructive to improve the Islamic knowledge and awareness of this country's Muslims means nothing much if we are to observe the same old lethargy set in again into the hearts and minds of Malaysia's Muslim ummah as a result of the failure of those who are paid to see to it that Islam is not only said to be observed here but really seen to be put to practice in the true and real sense of the word!

Today, after 1432 years of this historic event had took it placed, the remarkable story of Rasullullah PBUH is still remain strong and fresh on our mind. but the question is, is it enough just to talk about it without truly understand the true meaning behind all of this? the answer of course would be a big NO. so let's raised our hearts and mind to make our own hijrah.in order to be a good invidual in and out after this.This is not just about individualistic only, but it covers overall aspect of life. economy,politics and educational aspects. all of these play each biggest role to make sure that the ummah will stay strong and unite in this last ages.from economic that full with riba' to an economic that follow the rules stated by Allah the Almighty. from merits and certification basis to the education system that uphold the wahyu and orient the good self individualistic in the future. i have this strong vision that muslims will move to a better situation than where we are now.

Of course we cant just simply ignore that every people should has their own what so called new year resolution kaaaaan? well i do have my own new year resolution and also big hopes that i want to carry throughout this whole new fresh year..

New year resolution : I, Aina Afiyyah Binti Basir are going to do my best in order to achieve my target goal in my life.To study hard and succeed in this field and to be a good muslim that uphold the teaching of islam and its values into my life.

My hopes on this sacred month of Muharram is that our world will be in peace and harmony as what Rasulullah PBUH has taught us before. insyaAllah :)

so for today..mock muet continued as we haven't done reading,speaking and listening paper yet..but today we were sitting for the reading paper. personally..i dont really like this reading comprehension thing because it is really hard to read through the article and try to find the answer for the question.and honestly it is sooooooo many words for my eyes to readddd!*ceh* it takes me ages to keep reading it on and on.oh please call me "cik nana si lazybum" :p anywayyy..i managed to complete that paper and we were discharged early for today's class.isn't that great to be released early than the actual time allocated?ahaaa..again please call me "cik nana lazybum"

ok gotta run.its time to fill my emptybumpty stomach before it gets crazihhhh!

ohh mai gooodness. how can i be that careless? mock muettttt-writing was held last wednesday. how can i be so blind as i dont even noticed the other essay question beneath the first essay question on that question paperrrrr?!? * read on 1 breath*

no wonder why everybody was so focused with their paper by not even looking right and left like i didddd ! attention : im not copy other person work naaaa. but its normal when u got nothing to do and your head keep wondering around like bob marley but actually u got thing to do but u dont even noticed the thing that u must doooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo at that moment.

"what day is today? today is tuesday!!"

hello..ehem..(positioning myself) ehm..hye to my new bloggy,which is nanawynnejones's blog-english version.haha.well. our second semester has just started a week ago. so there were many new things happened in that whole week. we got to meet our friends back and also we got to know our new lecturers of course. not to mention few fresh looks in our class this semester.

question of the week : why does this second blog appears all of sudden without warning?*muehe*
answer of the week : all of us,including me were asked to create a blog specially to deliver our cute reflexion of bel260 class. cute reflexionnnn.what a word kann ! :p

so our first class of bel260 (preparation for MUET) was held on tuesday, 22nd of november 2010. hooreyy. our new cute lecturer , miss Hana is going to be our 'mummy' for this whole 2nd semester.ngeh. so as the class started , we were having some ice cream feast a.k.a ice breaking ( i dunno if its link together :p ) anywayy..we were asked to introduced ourselve individually and got into our group according to our numbers. who got the same number from 1 untill 8,then they will be your new group member . as for me..i kinda sad cause i've to say gudbye to aiman,akilah,azreen and fiera as we were not in the same team againn * background song - PERPISAHAN kru * but its okayy. my new group for this semester are dianah,adilah,aisyah and fahm, the only man standing. and we stand by the name of JAMES BOND 007 *tepuk tepuk pengakap * ;p

First activity was .....err....ermm... " boom" game.. "pop " game..or perhaps "boombomm" game? i dont really know the specific name. sorry.hehh. but its like booming and shooting the other team with different given themes. each group member has to shout names of a person or anything regarding the theme given. whoever shout the same word as what the other person from the other team has just mentioned, he or she has to be kicked out from his or her own team and deal with an enormous punishment. i've been kicked out like 2 times for 2 different round. so that means two enormous punishment for aina afiyyah ! horey. but im not alone peopleeeeee. we have to sing sepohon kayu daunyya rimbun and for the second round we sang uitm's song.erghh that was so embarassing plus fun :p

after shouting shooting and panicking situation for almost 1 hour * i guess*..we've settled down democratically and sat down peacefully.thank godd. and our very first assignment was announced by miss hana.

personally i think, it was fun activity to start our class for this semester. to get to know each other well.its a start of something biggggg :)
